We are an Amazon Associate

Hearth & Home Reviews is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

What that means in plain English: when you click a product link on our site and end up buying something on Amazon (whether it's the product we linked to or something else entirely), Amazon pays us a small commission — typically 1-6% of the sale. The price you pay is exactly the same as if you'd gone to Amazon directly.

Our editorial independence promise

We do not accept payment, gifts, or loaner products from manufacturers in exchange for review coverage. Every product on this site is bought at full retail price by Hearth & Home Reviews, with one exception: products returned for editorial reasons are sometimes bought back at the discounted "used — like new" Amazon price. We always disclose if a unit is refurbished.

Manufacturers and PR agencies cannot buy their way into our rankings. Period. A product earns its spot by performing in our four-week-plus home tests.

How we choose which products to test

Our selection criteria, in order of priority:

1. Reader demand — searches, emails, and questions from readers.
2. Market position — the most-purchased and most-searched products in a category.
3. Editorial curiosity — new releases, redesigns, and products that look like they fill a gap.

We test 4-8 products per category. We never promise manufacturers that their product will be selected for testing.

FTC compliance

The United States Federal Trade Commission requires that bloggers and reviewers disclose any material connection with advertisers. The material connection in our case is the Amazon Associates affiliate fees described above.

We comply with the FTC Endorsement Guides in three ways:

1. This disclosure page exists and is linked from every page on the site.
2. The footer of every page reminds readers that "we earn from qualifying purchases."
3. Every product link carries rel="sponsored nofollow noopener" attributes.

EU consumer-protection compliance

For our readers in the European Union, we additionally comply with:

• The EU Unfair Commercial Practices Directive (2005/29/EC) — product placement is never disguised as editorial.
• The EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU) — clear pricing and return information is always provided.
